Hawkes, Madelyn T., 78, February 11, 2010.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island.  Interment to be held in the Island Falls Cemetery.     MARYLAND – Madelyn T. Hawkes, 78, formerly of Island Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11, 2010. She was born March 18, 1931, in Oakfield, the daughter of the late Wallace and Eunice Townsend.
    She was the lovely wife to James G. Hawkes for 61 years.
    She is survived by her children, Mrs. Gilly Sharpnack, Mr. James T. Hawkes, and Mrs. Robin Pumphrey; one brother, Almon Townsend; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
    A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27; at 11:00 a.m. at the Island Falls Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall at the Island Falls United Baptist Church. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
