CARIBOU – Evelyn Marie Christina Archer, 95, passed from this life to her new home in eternity on July 9, 2010. Her niece, Mona Michaud, was at her bedside, where she resided in Caribou.
Evelyn was born November 17, 1914, in New Sweden, to Anton G. and Mabel (McFee) Anderson. After her mother’s death, she was adopted by her Aunt Matilda and Uncle Carl Erickson.
Evelyn married Leon Archer November 4, 1933, and they celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2003. She and her family lived in Avoca, N.Y. for 40 years and returned to Presque Isle and finally Caribou to live out her days.
She loved her family, heritage, cooking, singing and the Lord. She would rock the babies and sing Swedish lullabies.
Evelyn is predeceased by her parents; husband, Leon; five brothers and eight sisters. She is survived by her son, Allan (Eleanor) Archer of Benson, Ariz.; brothers, Gilbert Anderson of Millbury, Mass., Clifton (Irma) Anderson of New Sweden; sisters, Clarice (Marshall) Helstrom of Brewer, Ina Noel of Millbury, Mass., grandchildren; great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
