Students, staff and invited guests attended an end-of-the-year awards ceremony and picnic May 28, at the Caribou Technology Center. Ralph Conroy, director of the center, welcomed everyone to the event and recognized Matthew Donnelly, a Washburn High School senior as Caribou’s Outstanding Career and Technical Education Student of the Year.

Students from the Caribou Technology Center were guests of honor along with friends and families during the recent end-of-the-year awards ceremony and picnic barbecue held at the center. Students and their course of study are, from left: Anthony Woods, Caribou High School, video production; Phil Willey, CHS, commercial drivers license; Levi Swan, CHS, welding and metal fabrication; Kevin Godin, CHS, automotive technology; Corey Felix, CHS, auto body repair; Lance LaMothe, CHS, graphic arts; Brandon Adams, CHS, residential construction; and Wyatt Rothlauf, Washburn District High School, criminal justice.
Individual instructors spoke about their year prior to awarding completion certificates and announcing their choices for “Outstanding Student.” Each Outstanding Student was awarded a Technology Center T-shirt. SkillsUSA students were recognized and received a certificate for their participation.
Caribou Technology Center Scholarship recipients were announced including: Ryan Clark, CHS, who received the Mark David Leblanc Memorial Scholarship and the “Butch Barnes Memorial Scholarship; and Wyatt Rothlauf, from Washburn High School received the Vocational Teachers Scholarship.”
Students, faculty and guests enjoyed a barbecue which was provided by the Caribou Food Service program. The Coca-Cola Bottling Company also donated soda and water.
Door prizes provided by colleges and the Tech Center instructors were drawn with almost every student receiving a prize.
The Technology Center staff congratulates their seniors and wishes them the best of luck with their future plans.
