The annual S.W. Collins 5K Road Race will be held Sunday, June 27 at the S.W. Collins parking lot in Caribou.
The Kids 1K walk begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K walk at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K run at 10 a.m.

A girls fast pitch softball travel team for 11- and 12-year-olds is being formed in the Caribou area. Girls from Caribou, Woodland, Stockholm, New Sweden, Limestone, Fort Fairfield and other local communities are welcome to tryout.

Sportsmen Inc. held its annual fishing derby, held every year since 1974, at Cross Lake Landing. The event covers the Fish River Chain area.
The largest salmon was caught by Michael Maynard of Perham and weighed in at 4 lbs., 8 oz. Second place went to Ronnie Ouellette of Caribou. His fish weighed 3 lbs., 12 oz.
First place in the trout category went to Clarence Rossignol of Stockholm with a weight of 1 lb., 10 oz. In second was Bo Grant of Camden at 1 lb., 3 oz.
Cash drawings were won by Ron Sites of Mapleton and Peter Bourgoin of Madawaska Lake.
The Dutch Soccer Academy is offering two separate overnight camps at the University of Maine at Presque Isle as well as week-long day camps throughout the summer.
The first week of overnight camp is June 27-July 2 and is for students entering grades 5-12. The second week, July 5-9, is for grades 7-12 and students who have just completed their senior year.
Lodging will be at both Northern Maine Community College and UM-Presque Isle. Students staying at NMCC will be shuttled to UMPI each day. Tuition is $410 for overnighters and $330 for commuters. Family discounts are available.
A day camp is also being offered in Caribou July 19-23. At Caribou High School, grades Pre-K and kindergarten meet from 8:30-9:30 a.m., grades K-4 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and grades 5-9 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Tuition is $45 for the one-hour micro camp and $95 for the three-hour camp, with discounts for families available.

Dylan Berkoski participated in the Pitch, Hit, and Run state championship in Freeport last month.
After winning his age group in the local competition held in Caribou, Berkoski went up against eight others in the 13-14 age division and came in first place. He is the son of Art and Lisa Berkoski of Caribou.
