Doug Clark, left, accepts a $5,000 check toward a veterans’ memorial presented by Alec Jarvis on behalf of First Wind at the American Legion, Frank B. Holden Post No. 52 in Oakfield. The independent wind energy company made the donation recently to support the post’s goal of raising $35,000 within two years for the memorial. Clark said to 1,000 names of veterans dating back to the Civil War up through the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will be engraved on a monument. To support the project, call Clark at 557-5641.
