EM bowling results
The 88th Eastern Maine Men’s Bowling Tournament was held last month at Northern Lanes. The Spednic Club of Calais team #1 won the tournament with a record of 29-7. Second was PI Elks #1 with a record of 27-9, followed by the defending champion The Trinity Lodge of Presque Isle with a record of 26-10.
The all-tournament team consisted of, first, Tom Pelkey (TL), 124.22; second, Dave Donahue (PI Elks # 1), 116.96; third, Bob Cleary (Houlton Elks #1); fourth, Michael Lee (PI Elks #1), 116.41; fifth, Larry Pulcifur (PI Elks #1), 116.15; and sixth, Steve Spooner (PI Elks #2), 115.74.
The high single was Cleary, 175; Lee, 164; and Paul Austin (Houlton Odd Fellows), 160. The high three was Austin, 413; Pelkey, 406; and Cleary, 405. The team high single was PI Elks #1 with a 638, high three was PI Elks #1 with 1,819.
The women’s Eastern Maine tourney was also held recently. Calais #1 took first place with 20 points, while PI Elks #1 was second with 19. Woodland #1 and Northern Lanes #2 tied for third with 18.
High single went to Carolyn Nicholas (Calais #1) with 165 with Cindy French (Northern Lanes 1) second with a 135. Nicholas had the top average at 105.6, Wanda Pollock (Calais #1) averaged 102.2 and KimSue Leavitt (PI Elks #1) was third at 100.9.
Next year, both the men’s and women’s tournaments will be in Calais.
