    Bishop, Anna May, 89, PRESQUE ISLE, May 22, 2010.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Sat., May 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.


 

    PRESQUE ISLEAnna May Bishop, 89, passed away May 22, with family at her side.  She was born May 6, 1921, in Grand Falls, N.B., daughter of George and Elizabeth (Kavanaugh) Gillespie. May graduated from Verdun Hospital School of Nursing in Montreal. She married Lewis F. Bishop of Presque Isle January 13, 1945. A communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church, May was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella.
    She is survived by daughters, Gail Vreeland of Presque Isle, Sharon Fritz of Jupiter, FL, Patricia Crawford of Palm Beach, FL, and Carmen Haggerty of Auburn; sons, Kevin of Cape Elizabeth, Greg of South Portland, Peter of Old Orchard Beach, Matt of Portland, Kent of San Francisco, Robert of Henderson, Nevada and Stephen of New Port Ritchie, FL; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; surviving siblings include Edward Gillespie, Presque Isle, Stephen Gillespie, London, Ontario, Joan Tweedie, Westfield, Mary Hunter, Scarborough, Anne Schopf, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Marie Finlayson, Ancaster, Ontario, Bertha Kuntz, Red Deer, Alberta, Agnes Rosteski, Birch River, Manitoba.
    She was predeceased by brothers, Bernard, John, Earlin and Joe Gillespie; and sister, Rita Sullivan; daughter Christine and husband Lewis.
    The family wishes to thank the Presque Isle Rehab Center for the excellent care May received for the past seven years.
    A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Presque Isle, with Rev Raymond Morency celebrant. A reception will immediately follow at the K of C’s Hall. Interment will be in St Mary’s North Main St. Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
