Chocolate painting planned at Wintergreen

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Wintergreen Arts Center is hosting a special workshop Saturday, May 29 celebrating two wonderful things – chocolate and painting.

Students of all ages will learn simple chocolate painting techniques that will yield amazing results. The finished products can even be served on a plate as dessert! This is a one-day event with three different classes planned for children, teens and adults. All of the materials will be provided, and artistic skills are not required.
The first class, “Summer is Here,” begins at 10 a.m. and is designed for kids 8 to 18 (younger youth accompanied by an adult). “Flip-Flops and Lighthouses” is for all ages (parents and youth) and starts at 12:30 p.m. Later in the evening, a class for adults and couples called “Love is in the Air” is from 6-7:30 p.m. All of the workshops are an hour-and-a-half and will be held at the Wintergreen Arts Center located at 149 State St. in Presque Isle.
The classes will be led by Kelly Arnold, a lifelong artist and art teacher with 16 years of experience. Arnold is a native of northern Maine, and is currently living and working in Stuart, Fla. Her work can be seen online at www.kellyarnold.com. Her students range in age from 5 to 97 and work in all mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture and computer graphics. Her love of chocolate and her passion in painting, led her to create classes in painting on chocolate which have been popular in Florida. With many classes under her belt (or under her paintbrush), Arnold and Wintergreen are excited to bring this opportunity to northern Maine.
