Target marketing, technology workshop to help entrepreneurs

    PRESQUE ISLE – Did the information highway bypass your business? Do you want to brush up on basic tools to help you market your business most effectively? Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community is offering a free one-day workshop on Target Marketing and Technology in three locations around Aroostook County.
    This hands-on class is aimed at Aroostook entrepreneurs who need to get up to speed with computer skills to communicate with and build their customer base. The full-day session will cover specific applications of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and social networking that you can use to market your business. Participants will practice specific skills you can apply immediately and learn about free technology you can use even if you don’t have a computer at home.
    The workshop will be held at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle Thursday, June 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; at Fort Kent High School Friday, June 4 from 12:30-4:30 p.m.; and the Houlton Higher Education Center Monday, June 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The class is open to women, men, and all entrepreneurs interested in improving their business marketing and technology skills. Class size is limited to 10 people in each session, so register soon to reserve your place in the class.
    Erica Quin-Easter, microenterprise coordinator for Women, Work, and Community in Aroostook County and the trainer for the class, notes that, “Technology is changing constantly and can seem overwhelming to entrepreneurs who just want to focus on running their business. But in this day and age, running your business effectively requires that you use all the tools available to promote your business and communicate with your customers.”
    The Target Marketing and Technology workshop will provide a welcoming, user-friendly environment for entrepreneurs to try out new tools and put technology to use in their marketing plan.
