Burton, 82, of Oakfield died May 15, 2010 in Bangor. He was born Sept. 22, 1927 the son of Robert and Ethel (Ross) Burton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Frank B. Holden Post #52 of Oakfield, and retired from the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad.
He is survived by three sisters and one brother, Robert Burton of Houlton, Evelyn Johnston of Oakfield, Betty Ivey of Houlton and Shirley Spellman of Bryson City N. C.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeased by his parents; brothers, Oscar and Chester; sisters, Joyce Burton, Gladys Brown and Doris Grass; half-sisters Josephine Melville Flewelling, Esther Shives and Ruth Wheeler; and a half-brother Laurel Gardiner.
Friends may call 12-1 pm Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton with funeral services being held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Hovda Officiating.
