Image    Brenda Jepson, instructor of the Viking Video Productions program at Caribou Technology Center, has been given The Huey Award for 2010.     The Huey Award is presented by the Maine Film Office and Maine Film Commission each year to a Maine resident who exhibits “exceptional contributions in film and education in Maine” and is named for Huey Coleman, a noted Maine filmmaker, educator and director of the Maine Student Film & Video Festival.
“We are so pleased to give this award to Brenda for the work she has done depicting Maine in film and educating students.  She has enriched us all over and over again,” said Lea Girardin, director, Maine Film Office in Augusta.
The award will be presented to the New Sweden filmmaker on July 17 at the Maine International Film Festival in Waterville. Jepson has taught video production at the Caribou Tech Center for 15 years. Her program has been slated for closure next month.
