On Saturday, May 22, the Stockholm selectmen and planning committee will be hosting a spaghetti supper and open house beginning at 5 p.m., at the newly created Community Center (the former Stockholm Elementary School). The community recently received a grant from the Maine Community Foundation to assist in the purchasing of exercise equipment to be utilized in the exercise and health area of the new center. This grant was achieved with the help of Cary Medical Center and it is expected that a representative from the medical facility will be in attendance during the event to speak on the collaborative efforts in reaching this goal.
The Stockholm selectmen and members of the planning committee plan to provide service to all surrounding towns and townships.
All area residents are encouraged to attend the dinner, explore the new Community Center and learn about programs and services that are available now and others being planned for the future.
