Akerson, Arline E., 89, Perham and Caribou, at Caribou, May 7, 2010. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home. May 16 from 1 p.m. until time of services.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. from the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

Image    Perham and Caribou – Arline E. Akerson, 89, wife of the late Chester Akerson died May 7, 2010, at Caribou. She was born in Caribou, April 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Albin and Louise (Hanson) Edstrand. Arline devoted her life to raising her children and many foster children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Reach to Recovery Volunteer, was a member of the Perham Friendship club and for over 50 years, was a member of the Extension Homemakers. Mrs. Akerson was also an RSVP knitter and served as a ballot clerk for the Town of Perham for many years. She loved to spend time with her family at their camp at Mud Lake and enjoyed gardening and preserving her grown vegetables. Arline was a loving wife to the late Chester Akerson whom she married August 14, 1941. He predeceased her January 24, 2010. Together, they shared a bond so strong and everlasting that one without the other was not complete. They will now be joined together forever in eternity.
    She is survived by one son, Richard Akerson and his wife Dorea of Caribou and their children Shannon, Travis and Danielle; three daughters, Kathie Woodcock and her husband Neil of Lancaster, CA and their children Alicia and Rachael, Christine Finemore and her husband Bim of Bridgewater and their children Louis and Katie, and Pamela Wilcox and her husband Donald of Washburn and their children Troy and Adam; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Aidan, Dylan, Alicia, Eric, Kayla, Kenna , Jacob and baby Lila; a daughter-in-law, Tina Akerson of Falmouth and her children Linda, Lisa and Rick; three sisters, Freda Durepo of Limestone, Naida Michaud of Perham and Rita Edstrand of Caribou; a very special best friend, Marge Dahlgren of Perham. She was predeceased by a son, Arthur; a sister, Avis Dahlgren; and a brother, Marvin Edstrand.
    Friends may visit with the family at the  Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Sunday, May 16, 2010, from 1 p.m. until time of services. Services will be held at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Lawrence Beals, officiating. Following the service, a committal will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Akerson at the Fairview Cemetery, Perham. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Akerson  may do so through the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Good Program. Envelopes are available through the funeral home.
