“Fort had extremely strong defense throughout much of the game, allowing only one of the three bunt attempts and keeping the score tied at 1-1 for much of the game,” Tiger coach Jamie Selfridge said. “Katahdin came on strong both in the fifth and seventh innings to take a lead. Fort also had successful fifth and seventh innings but it was not enough to seal a win. Both teams hit well and looked good for the first game of the season.”
Limestone-MSSM 5, Southern Aroostook 4 — At Limestone Monday, the Eagles rallied for their second win of the season. Trailing 2-0 through the first four innings, the Eagles plated three runs in the fifth, added another in the sixth and then held off Southern Aroostook in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Victoria St. Pierre had three singles and two RBIs for the Eagles, while Savanna Gray and Stephanie Leighton added two singles each.
