LIMESTONE — It was the leading man who-done-it during the murder mystery activity held on April 21 at the Robert Frost Memorial Library in Limestone. About half of the 10 youths participating in the annual murder-mystery event held at the Library correctly guessed that Hollywood starlet Lola LaPuff was killed by her leading man, Neil (played by Limestone Postmaster Dan Durepo). Actor Neil had apparently been jealous of all the attention leading-lady Lola had been receiving and so he murdered her with her own feather boa.

Limestone super sleuths solved the crime after finding feathers from Lola’s feather boa in Neil’s pocket. Though actor Neil told the young detectives that he had the feathers in his pocket because he had asked Lola for them, spinning the lie that he liked the color of the boa and wanted to buy his girlfriend something that matched, the detectives saw through his lie and made sure that murder-mystery justice was served.
While figuring out who-done-it, participating youths honed their skills in problem solving, creativity, and literacy.
Being the first murder-mystery in the newly remodled library, Librarian Rea Caldwell commented how much nicer it was to have the additional space for all the activities involved with the event.
While traditionally only one murder-mystery is done per year geared toward children, library staff have been discussing the possibility of holding another murder-mystery later in the year geared toward adults.
