LIMESTONE — Jim Pelletier, 46, of Limestone has been with the Limestone Fire Department for three years as a firefighter/EMT and tanker driver. “It’s a very serious job,” he said. “People’s lives depend on us and our equipment and training needs to be number one for the safety of the public and ourselves.”
Jim has a wife, Nikki, and a daughter, Megan. He likes to spend his free time fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also likes classic rock and steak, but would prefer to stay away from collard greens.
As if he doesn’t spend enough time around large vehicles as a tanker driver for the department, Jim is also a mechanic at the Maine Military Authority.
While he may joke that he joined the department for the glamour, the real reason he joined was to be able to help people in need.
“We are citizens of the community as well as firefighters,” he said. “We strive to be as energy and cost efficient as possible.”
