Chamber Orchestra to celebrate
25th season of concerts
PRESQUE ISLE/CARIBOU — The Northern Maine Chamber Society Orchestra celebrates its 25th season of local performances with special spring concerts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Holy Rosary church in Caribou, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, in the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus Center. The orchestra is under the direction of Conductor Waldo Caballero, string teacher for the Orono School Department and a member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. They will be joined by members of the Caribou Choral Society, directed by Dan Ladner and accompanied by Mari-Jo Hedman, with featured vocal soloists Teresa Herold, Peter Penny, John Gorman and Jayne Shaw. Performance pieces include works by Martin, Lovland, Rutter, Mascagni, Verdi, Faure, Berlin and Rossini. The public is cordially invited to attend free of charge, however, donations will be gratefully accepted.
