HOULTON — Students at Houlton High School were honored Thursday with the school’s annual Awards Evening for National Honor Society and the Principal’s Award ceremony.
Led by the 2009-10 NHS members Ariel Foss, Hiba Bilal, Maggie Garcia-Ponder, Patrick Hutchinson, Stephanie Kreyssig, Jacob Peabody and Christopher Sewell, Houlton High School’s newly-inducted members received their NHS sash and were challenged by the graduating members to live up to the high expectations set forth with community service.
“Tonight, we are inducting 25 juniors and seniors into Houlton High School’s Chapter of the National Honor Society,” said Foss, Houton’s NHS president. “These students have achieved a 90 or better average and demonstrated leadership, service and good character.”
Inducted into the Houlton’s National Honor Society were Ashley Hannigan, Emily DeWitt, Samantha Dickison, Marina DiMarco, Tyler Delano, Tanner Caron, Kelsey Fitzpatrick, Gaige Flewelling, Nick Chase, Marcy Hernandez, Alexis Rush, Katherine Cone, Malik Abouleish, Megan Gerath, Dylan Gard, Ian Gervais, Kaylyn Queen, Logan Shaffer, Danielle Daigle, Rachael Torres, Aaron Faulkingham, Rebecca Crandall, Chelsi Murray, Ben Ward and Meghan Maker.
“All of our award recipients have worked very hard and should be proud of the awards they have received,” said HHS Principal Marty Bouchard.
