LIMESTONE — Sisters Kennedy, 7, and Ellyzabeth, 13, Bencivenga were crowned Little and Junior Miss Limestone, respectively, on April 11 during the Little and Junior Miss Pageant at the Limestone Community School. Sponsored by the Xi Alpha Theta Sorority, the Sugar and Spice-themed pageant was everything nice as the Bencivenga sisters competed alongside fellow contestants Megan Tucker, 7, and Rebecca King, 13. Tucker and King were both awarded Miss Congeniality and received the Highest Ticket Sales award.

Parents Wendy and Anthony Bencivenga certainly raised talented girls:
Kennedy preformed a dance routine to the number “Born to Entertain,” and when asked by emcee Stephen Leighton which of her toys she would keep if she could only keep one, she decided that her Nintendo Wii would be the toy she kept because she likes to play it with her Grandma and Grandpa.
Ellyzabeth demonstrated her musical talent by playing “What a Wonderful World” on her trumpet. During the talent portion, she informed the judges and audience “when you’re in Limestone, you know you’re in someplace special.”
Daughter of William and Susan Tucker, Megan sweetly sang “The Climb” and when asked what her favorite holiday was, she informed her audience that it was Christmas because you get to spend time with your family and you get presents.
Daughter of Stephanie and Scott King, Rebecca showcased her composition skills as well as her musical inclination, playing a self-composed piece on the saxophone. During the interview portion of the pageant, she informed the judges that she loves Limestone “because it is a small, independent and traditional town.”
The show kicked off with a sweet opening number to the song “I Want Candy” choreographed by Miss Limestone 2009 Caitlyn Good, 2008 Little Miss Limestone Emily Michaud and volunteer Danielle Michaud.
Good also performed a dance routine to the song “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” and her fellow 2009 Limestone Queens also performed during their last reigning event; Little Miss Limestone 2009 Taylor Devoe performed a baton routine to the song “Firefly” and Junior Miss Limestone 2009 Jordyn Hopkins played the song “Taking Care of Business” on her saxophone.
Special entertainment was provided by Kelsie Washington of Caribou, and the County Line Dancers.
Pageant sponsors included Al-Bear’s Place, Cote’s Auto Repair, Hometown 1 Stop, Limestone Rotary Club, Limestone Country Club, and Talk of the Town Beauty Salon.
