Ruth Walker Orr, 77, of LEWES, DE, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, of lung cancer at the home of her daughter, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ruth was born in Ashland, Maine, and graduated from Ashland High School in 1950. She was a longtime resident of New Castle, DE, retired from the Bank of Delaware and moved to Lewes in 1999.
Ruth was active in the Cheer Senior Center in Lewes where she had many friends and held offices of President, Secretary and Treasurer.
She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Orr; her sons, Matthew and Jack Orr; her brothers, Everett, Eugene, Donald and Wilfred Walker; and her sister, Marjorie Shaw.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and John deBrabander of Hockessin, DE; her daughter, Eileen Klingmeyer of Phoenix, AZ; her granddaughters, Kathy, Julie and Lizzie deBrabander and Laurel Klingmeyer; her sister, Pearle Soucy, of Portage, ME; her brother, Melvin Walker, of Longwood, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
