‘Godspell’ presented in May by CHS Drama students

Joe Zubrick, adviser to the Caribou High School Drama Club has announced the production dates of the group’s planned performances of the musical, “Godspell” have been moved to Mother’s Day weekend in May.      The show originally was to be performed on April 8-11 but various complications arising from the state drama and jazz choir competitions forced the move. “We’ll be able to concentrate more fully on the production now,” said Zubrick, “and we hope to have a good turnout, especially in honor of our seniors.”
Cast in the show are a number of CHS students including Kevin Turcotte, Robbie Kiehn, Erin Buck, Danielle Lane, Taylor Arey, Christine Kashian and Emma Duplessie-Cyr. Former members of the 2001 production of the same musical are also expected to participate.
“I’ve heard from five or so former members and they’re anxious to be part of the show again,” said Zubrick. “Adam Simoes, Tim Cyr, Larry Berz, Katie (Walls) Barry, Dean-na Jordan and guitarist J.P. Levasseur are all considering joining with the CHS Drama Club to make this version just as successful and memorable as the 2001 production,” stated  Zubrick.
Musical direction for the show will be handled by Kellie Moody, a CHS senior, who held the same position with last year’s “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” production.
“We’re hoping that “Godspell” kicks off a renewed interest in community theater,” said Zubrick. Plans for next year include at least two community productions.
