Native American Appreciation Day planned at UMPI

    PRESQUE ISLE — Students from the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Native Voices group will host Native American Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Wieden Hall. 

    The day-long event begins with a ceremonial blessing, and will include guest speakers, a panel discussion of “Loss of Native Language in our Communities” and a special Native Appreciation Gathering with drummers and dancers from 4 – 9 p.m.
    The public is invited to attend this free event, which is supported by Project Compass.
