The Caribou City Council, Monday, voted to accept the third draft of the 2010-11 Municipal Expense Budget. Following a complete review of the document by City Manager Steve Buck, and a public hearing during which comments and concerns regarding the budget were addressed to the panel, council members voted to approve the $8,581,445.30 expense budget. Councilor Mark Goughan voted against the draft.     Councilors approved the expense budget with the consideration of further adjustments that will be made prior to the June tax commitment.
A complete article regarding the budget issue and statements made during the public hearing, will appear in next week’s edition of the Aroostook Republican.
Also included in the future edition will be a report on the status of segment four regarding the North/South Highway as well as the council’s action pertaining to a petition for a proposed City Charter amendment.
