Halfway Home Pet Rescue, Inc., (HHPR) of Caribou has named Sharon Watson of Fort Fairfield to its board of directors. Watson replaces Everett Milton who passed away on March 3, and will continue his term of office as board secretary and memorial chair.     Watson became involved with HHPR in 2009 with the adoption of Emma Sweetie. She then answered a call to help service the HHPR booth at the Caribou October Art’s and Craft’s Fair where she heard countless positive stories from contributors and donors young and old, who stopped by the booth.
Watson has been employed by the Presque Isle-based financial and estate planning firm Thompson-Hamel, LLC, formerly known as Thompson Associates, for the last 21 years as, an administrative assistant/IT manager.
Watson stated, “It is my personal conviction that if I am not part of the solution to unwanted, abandoned and over populated animals, then I am part of the problem, so it is always my goal to become a part of the solution.”
“HHPR is proud to welcome a person of Sharon’s ability and talents to their board. HHPR is a state licensed animal shelter, and a 501c3 non-profit corporation that specializes in rescuing stray and feral cats,” said founder Norma Milton.
