Thanks for speaking up

To the editor:
    I would like to commend the young men of Mapleton that sat in the front row of the town meeting about doing away with the rec dept. Thank you for voicing your opinions and standing up for what is right! 

    My son has enjoyed Mapleton rec activities for four years, it has helped him build friendships and self esteem. I moved my family and business to Mapleton four years ago so my son could experience growing up in Mapleton as I did. I pay my taxes to Mapleton, If I wanted my son to attend rec in Presque Isle, I would have moved to PI.
    We shouldn’t be so quick to sacrifice our children for a few dollars.
