HODGDON — An evening of fun, food and fund-raising is scheduled for Saturday, April 3 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Linneus Sno Sports to raise money with Bingo Night for Hodgdon High School’s Class of 2010 Project Graduation events, says Cari Hutchinson.
“Come to our Bingo Night and bring a hearty appetite to help our graduates,” said Hutchinson, mother of one of the graduating seniors. “There will be homemade hot dishes for Bingo players so they can keep going throughout the evening. And, there will also be plenty of baked goodies for sale.”
Hutchinson, owner of the Pastry Corner, knows something about delicious sweet treats. Seen around town are her tempting baked goods in those clear containers with cupcakes, cookies, mini Whoopie pies and assortments. At an another event earlier this month she baked a 10-inch Whoopie Pie cake that raised $61 through raffles for Project Grad.
“Please come out to support our graduates. It’s a really good cause because it means providing a safe and fun graduation night,” said Hutchinson.
Estela Lane, chairman of Project Grad and parent of a graduating senior, said the committee has compiled a number of themed baskets for which they will be selling raffle tickets during Bingo Night at $1 each or 6 for $5. She said there are a number of great prizes that include a chocolate lover’s basket, a trip to Bar Harbor, a kayak and a trip to Portland to attend a Sea Dogs Game. The raffle baskets will also be displayed at the annual Houlton Trade Show, Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11.
Lane said everyone is invited to help raise money for the graduating students. “It is so incredibly important that parents get involved and become part of the seniors’ last evening of great memories together.” Another Project Grad planning meeting will be held tonight, March 24, 6:30 p.m. at Hodgdon High School.
