Olive E. Webber Bolster
Bolster, Olive E. Webber, 94, CUMBERLAND FORESIDE & EASTON, in CUMBERLAND FORESIDE, March 17, 2010. A celebration of Olive’s life will be conducted Saturday March 27, at 11 a.m. at the St. Peters Epicscopal Church, Portland. A committal service will be conducted at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson Dorsey Funeral Home.
CUMBERLAND FORESIDE & EASTON – Olive E. (Webber) Bolster, 94, wife of the late Kendall W. Bolster, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Ledgeview Assisted Living, Cumberland Foreside, after a period of failing health. She was born November 4, 1915, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Dellmore D. and Effie M. (Gartley) Webber.
She graduated as valedictorian from the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1933 and was married to Kendall W. Bolster on October 22, 1936, at which time she became a resident of Easton, where she lived for many years until moving to the Portland area seven years ago. She was a lifelong member and communicant of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield where she served in several capacities. While residing in Easton, Olive was very active in civic and schools affairs. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Olive was employed for seventeen years as a statistical interviewer for the U.S. Bureau of Census until her retirement in 1981. Mrs. Bolster loved Aroostook County and enjoyed many outdoor activities with her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bolster was predeceased by her husband, Kendall on April 26, 1997; one daughter, Brenda Bolster Greenleaf; four sisters, Virginia Webber, Doris W. Wheeler, Margaret Savage, and Avis Giggey.
She is survived by two sons, C. Keith Bolster of Palm Harbor, Florida, Timothy W. Bolster and his wife Susan of Centerville, MA; one daughter, Beth Ellen Bolster O’Connell and her husband Michael of Portland; son-in-law, David F. Greenleaf of Grand Prairie, TX; seven grandchildren and spouses, Jay A. and Aprile Greenleaf of Shreveport, LA, Jon K. and Crystal Greenleaf of Fort Worth, TX, Lori E. Greenleaf of Euless, TX, Erik T. and Elizabeth Bolster of Denver, CO, Evan T. and Kristin Bolster of Springfield, VA, Ryan M. O’Connell, Erin E. O’Connell and her husband Edward Turner, all of Philadelphia, PA; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Olive’s life will be conducted Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peters Episcopal Church, Washington Avenue, Portland, with the Rev. Wayne Rollins and Rev. Susan Murphy co-officiating. A committal service will be conducted at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Bolster to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, P.O. 737, Fort Fairfield, 04742 or to the Kendall W.
