Pre-k, kindergarten registration

    CARIBOU — Hilltop Elementary School will be hosting a very important registration night on Monday, April 12, for all Caribou parents (guardians) of students entering Pre-k in the fall of 2010. This registration also includes parents of kindergarten students not presently enrolled in the Caribou School Department.     The meeting will begin at 5 :30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria and is for parents only, (children will not be screened at this time). There will be a brief presentation by school staff regarding your child’s education and parents (guardians) will be given a registration packet and an appointment time to register their child.
    Limestone Pre-k and kindergarten registrations will take place April 12 —15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each day at the Limestone School Department.  
    School administrators remind parents and guardians they must present the following documents in order for their child to enter Pre-k or kindergarten.
• Birth certificate of the child who is be to registered (hospital certificates are not acceptable) as mandated by state law.
• A copy of immunizations (obtained from your medical provider’s office) as mandated by state law. Immunizations required by the start of the school year 20210-11 include: 5 DPT; 4 OPV/IPV; 2 MMR; Varicella or documentation of chickenpox disease from medical provider.(4 years old and older).
• A copy of guardianship/custody papers if it is warranted.
    The Maine State Law mandates that kindergarten students must be five years of age on or before Oct. 15, 2010. The pre-school program requires students be four years of age on or before Oct. 15, 2010.
