The Caribou girls junior varsity basketball team had a strong showing under first-year coach Ryan Deprey.

The Vikings were 12-6 overall and won 10 of their last 12 games.
“This team of girls is one of the most fun teams I have ever coached,” Deprey said. “Their dedication to intensity and practicing was evident in the finished product that we put out on the floor every game.”
This year’s roster included managers Brianna Gorence and Gabby Gorence and players Kelsie Espling, Jordyn Doucette, Katelynn Tardie, Anesha Hersey, Rebecca McDougal, Erin Madore, Katie Keaton, Laura Kavin, Colleen Harris, Elizabeth Keaton and Elisha Willey.
The team’s MVP was Rebecca McDougal, who Deprey said “showed that she can play on both sides of the ball, and flexed the defensive muscle that will make her a total player at the next level.”
The squad recorded two wins each over Fort Kent, Houlton, Hermon, Old Town and John Bapst and single victories over Mattanawcook and Limestone/MSSM. The losses were to Presque Isle (twice) and Fort Kent, Ellsworth, MDI and Mattanawcook.
