County athletes recognized
The Aroostook League has developed an awards program for their member schools to honor athletes as “All-Aroostook” for their accomplishments during their sports seasons.
Team sports All-Aroostook (soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and tennis) are selected by the coaches while individual sports All-Aroostook (cross country, golf, alpine and Nordic skiing, swimming, wrestling and track and field) are selected by criteria established by the Aroostook League.
Athletes are awarded an All-Aroostook certificate at their winter sports award assemblies by the coaches of their various sports.
This year’s All-Aroostook athletes are grouped by category.
Class B/C boys basketball: Cameron Anderson and Matt Till, Caribou; Jared Soucy, Fort Kent; Daniel McGillicuddy and Chris Williams, Hodgdon; Jordan Codrey and Corey Woodworth, Houlton; Jamie Cyr and Deejay Gendreau, Madawaska and Nate Ackerson, Travis Dyer and Dillon Kingsbury, Presque Isle.

ASHLAND’S Taylor Baker was selected to the All-Aroostook team for her strong play on the basketball court this past season. Baker was a solid frontcourt player as a senior for the Hornets.
LOGAN MCLAUGHLIN of CAHS was named to the Class D boys All-Aroostook team.
WASHBURN’S Connor Fitzpatrick helped lead the Washburn Beavers into the tournament and also landed a spot on the All-Aroostook Class D boys squad.

PRESQUE ISLE WILDCAT Erica Hemphill capped off a strong season by being named to the All-Aroostook team by the Aroostook League. Hemphill qualified as an individual and had a solid placement at the Class B state swim championships, held last month.
FORT FAIRFIELD SENIOR Courtney Churchill won a state championship and also was named a league all star.

HALLIE BARTLETT of the Presque Isle Wildcats excelled on the Nordic ski trails and also was a solid Alpine skier this past season. For her solid performance, the senior was named to the All-Aroostook ski team.
