Troop learns about Fort
Troop 460 head leader
FORT FAIRFIELD – Girl Scout Troop 460 in Fort Fairfield currently has 13 active Girl Scouts in our troop. We meet bi-weekly on Tuesday evenings at the local high school. There are four leaders who work with the young ladies.
During the past year, our young ladies have been very busy learning about the community around them and the importance of community service. They have had the opportunity to visit the Maine Veteran’s Home and meet with the residents and sing song with them. They have also worked at the Community Food Pantry.
In December, six of the young ladies and two leaders went to the Maine Discovery Museum for an overnight stay. The girls have learned about first aid and safety and are currently working on a project to collect first aid supplies to send to health clinic in Haiti.
Some upcoming events being planned are a sleepover at the local library, a clean up day for the town, and a hiking day.

MEMBERS OF GIRL SCOUT TROOP 1134 in Mars Hill are collecting aluminum tabs off soda, vegetable and pet food cans to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. The collection drive will end June 1.
