A sack lunch was eaten before the meeting along with a cake provided by the hostess, Nina Trask. Pastor Sue was able to lunch with them before going on to another meeting. Devotions were held by President Eldora Carter, in the absence of Glenice Craig, with a special prayer for those on the prayer list, followed by the reading of the United Methodist Women’s Purpose.
The secretary’s and the treasurer’s reports were given by Marie Hewitt and both were accepted as read. Freda Dionne will be acting secretary in the future.
The quilt report remains the same with four baby quilts and two queen-size quilts for sale. The group made eight visitations during the month and the secretary sent out one birthday card.

Their wish list contains: towels, twin sheets and blankets, lamps, alarm clocks, radio, bookshelves, bean bag chair, shampoo and conditioner, diapers, crib sheets, cooking and baking pans. Easton Kiwanis
The Easton Kiwanis held their last meeting for the month at the Odd Fellow’s Hall on Feb. 16, with nine members and two guests present.
A pizza and green salad supper was served before the meeting, along with a surprise birthday cake for Bernard Hussey who celebrated his 90th birthday on Feb. 3. He thanked the group and spoke some of trying to keep up with some of the young people at camp. He also spoke of his growing up years when he never had toys and that on his 90th birthday he was given a toy 1934 Ford truck. He told of his experience in driving a truck for the first time, with a load of wood, at a very early age.
Mike Allen opened the meeting with a Salute to Dollars. He reminded the Club that Senator Collins would be speaking at the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club on Friday, Feb. 19. Mike Cyr, Vaughn Martin, Bernard Hussey and Barbara Blackstone all planned to attend. Barbara is the Lt. Governor of this area now.
Mike also reminded them that a week from Saturday, Feb. 27, will be the Winter Carnival on Kinney Hill, if there’s any snow left. The Kiwanis will be cooking hotdogs and rolls, along with cookies and squares. Donations will be accepted.
Mike Cyr reported that there will be a special spaghetti supper held at the Wesleyan Church on March 13 for Kim  Hammond. Kim is in Boston right now undergoing a procedure for cancer.
Mike asked different members just what Kiwanis does and how the money they make is used. Irene Dafonte suggested how some is used for scholarships, Thanksgiving baskets and toys. Loris Allen reminded them that they also help the Cub Scouts. Harold Clark brought up the yearly calendars and the Food Pantry which the Kiwanis helped get started. They also set up the Key Club at the Easton Jr./ Sr. High School in town.
