Caribou – Robert L. Longlais, 51, died February 23, 2010, at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Belleville, Ill. August 12, 1958, the son of Lucien and Cecile (Levesque) Longlais. Robert was a graduate of Limestone High School and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He served with the US Army, retiring as a Staff Sergeant after twenty years of service including tours during Dessert Storm. He was more recently employed as an instructor at Loring Job Corps. Mr Longlais was a lifetime member of the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW.
Surviving in addition to his father, Lucien of Limestone are one brother, John Longlais and his wife, Kandy of Northridge Ohio; two sisters, Linda Powell and her husband, David of Watauga, TX, and Betty Longlais of Limestone; two nephews, Lucien Longlais, John Joseph Gilmen; and a niece, Christina Gilmen. Robert was predeceased by his mother and a brother, Lucien “PeeWee” Longlais Jr.
