PRESQUE ISLE — Connie Sandstrom, executive Director of Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP), announces the hiring of Kimberly Smith to fill the newly-created resource development position. Smith, who began her duties as of Feb. 1, will be researching new funding opportunities and writing grants for the various ACAP services and programs. Sandstrom indicated “We view Kim as a significant asset to the agency and to the community as she will maximize growth opportunities since her work will lead to enhanced and increased services for residents of Aroostook County.”
Smith, a Presque Isle resident, holds a master’s of science in business degree from Husson University and has served as the grant writer for the Presque Isle Historical Society for the past three years. In addition, she has over 20 years’ of experience in the non-profit arena in Florida, Virginia and Maine.
ACAP provides the people of Aroostook County with services and programs in the areas of health, child and family, energy and housing, employment and training and community service.
