The search is on for girls and women to compete for prestigious titles in the 2010 Eastern Maine Pageant. With no swimsuit or mandatory competition, the Eastern Maine Pageant focuses on the individual young woman and her daily life, highlighting what makes each contestant special.     Organizers claim the benefits of entering the pageant include building inner confidence, creating lasting friendships, showcasing talents and abilities and strengthening character. “The high standards and exciting opportunities offered through the pageant attract the highest caliber of talented girls and women from across eastern Maine,” said Jayna Smith, pageant director.
Contestants compete in interview, on-stage self-introduction and formal wear. In addition, participants may choose to compete in any optional competitions which consist of talent, modeling and photogenic.
Four pageant queen titles will be awarded: Little Miss Eastern Maine for ages 5 to 8; Junior Miss Eastern Maine for ages 9 to 13; Teen Miss Eastern Maine for ages 14 to 18; and Ms. Eastern Maine for ages 18 and older. Ms. contestants may be single, married, or previously married, or have children.
A queen in each optional event for each age division will also be crowned.
As one of the most prestigious pageants in Maine, the new Eastern Maine Queens will be chosen at the pageant being held in Baileyville on Saturday, April 17. Contestants must reside or go to school in either Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis or Washington counties.
