Upcoming Chocolate Festival to benefit children’s museum
CARIBOU – The Caribou Children’s Discovery Museum (CCDM)) is sponsoring its third annual Chocolate Festival Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center located on Bennett Drive.
Visitors have the opportunity to sample a delicious array of chocolate treats provided by participating local bakers and volunteers. Coupon booklets of 13 tickets will be sold for $10 or six for $5 during the event. An admission donation of $2 is requested for those who do not wish to purchase a coupon booklet. With each coupon, guests may choose a chocolate treat from thousands of choices.
Also, an auction with over 100 items will start at 11 a.m. and there will be many activities for the kids including a Bouncy House, S’Mores, WONKA Bingo, face painting, chocolate contests, and many vendors will also be present. Raffle tickets will be sold on a $1,000 savings bond and a bird feeder.
Haley Smith, a sophomore at Presque Isle High School, is sponsoring the Reading and Crafts Corner as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Children will be making bookmarks, chocolate moose drawings, and many other creations.
