Rita M. Wardwell, 82, of Slanesville, WV died on Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV.
Mrs. Wardwell was born on October 23, 1927 in Caribou, ME, a daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Raymond Dubay. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Faith.
Mrs. Wardwell was married to Erben C. Wardwell on November 22, 1947 in Caribou, ME.
Surviving with her husband of 62 years are two sons, Duane E. Wardwell and fiancée, Misty of Slanesville, WV, Douglas E. Wardwell and wife, Barbara of New Britian, CT; two daughters, Diane Audet and husband, Guy of Bristol, CT, Doreen Warner of Old Orchard Beach, ME; one brother, Louis Dubay of Rocky Hill, CT; one sister, Linda Folts of Southington, CT; three grandchildren, Andrew Warner, Scott and Holly Audet; two great-grandchildren, Kasia Warner and Garrett Doll.
A Celebration of Life service was at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, WV on Friday, February 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Gregory R. Kenney. Private inurnment to be at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour before service.
