    The Caribou sixth and seventh grade boys sixth and seventh grade boys basketball team picked up a pair of victories this past week with wins over Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle White. Against Presque Isle Jan. 7, the Vikings completed a three-game sweep of Presque Isle White with an impressive 65-5 win. According to Viking coach Troy Barnes, Caribou used a well-balanced offensive attack, with 11 players getting into the scoring action. Dayne Savage, Michael Hunter and Gabe Massey each had 10 points, while Nate Wyman added eight; Colby Holdsworth and Matt Milton each added six; Dustin Bouchard, five; Taylor Thibodeau, four; while Nick Frost, Nate Wall and Johnathan Emmert also scored.     Against Fort Fairfield Jan. 6, Caribou rolled to 40-18 victory. Caribou used a second and third quarter burst where it scored 29 of its 40 points over those two quarters. Dayne Savage led the way with 17 points including four 3-pointers; Donovan Savage added seven; Thibodeau, four; while Bouchard, Frost, Massey, Hunter, Wall and Wyman also scored.
    The Caribou eighth grade boys squad improved to 9-3 with a trio of wins last week. The Vikings beat Fort Kent 44-23 on Jan. 4; bested Fort Fairfield 54-25 Jan. 6; and defeated Presque Isle White 51-37 Jan. 7.
    At Fort Kent, Caribou led 10-0, 14-12, and 30-13 at the quarter breaks. The Vikings used a 16-1 run in the third quarter to break open a tight game. According to coach Steve Perreault, Caribou’s height advantage and man press was the difference in the game.
    Leading the Vikings in scoring were Derek Richardson with nine points; Matt Frost and Cody Herbert, both with six; Matt Milliard and Matt Curry both five. Fort Kent’s Abe Desjardins led all scorers with 17 points.
    Against Fort Fairfield, the Vikings led 22-8, 32-10 and 44-18 at the quarter breaks. Caribou’s balanced scoring attack featured Frost with 14 points; Curry, eight; Tyler Strid, five. Fort Fairfield’s Noah Bernard led the Tigers with nine points.
    Against Presque Isle White, the Vikings led 10-5, 26-17 and 38-27 at the quarter breaks. Leading Caribou was Frost with 13 points, while Breen Blackstone added nine; Dylan Berkoski and Milliard, both six; Kameron Manter and Michael Boone both were outstanding in the second quarter with their scoring, defense, and assists to help the Vikings get through a tough time with many players in foul trouble.

    The CMS eighth grade squad picked up a trio of recent victories as the Vikings beat Presque Isle White twice and bested Fort Kent.
    On Monday, Caribou defeated PI White 36-13 as the Vikings defense keyed the victory. Caribou led 8-0, 12-6 and 21-8 at the quarter breaks. Caribou was led by Shyanne Barnes (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals); Alana Sirois (14 points, 6 steals); Brooke St. Peter (5 points, 10 rebounds); and Samantha Adams (2 points and 5 steals).
    Leading scorer for PI White was J. Hallett with five points.
    At Presque Isle Jan. 5, the Vikings led 9-2, 18-11 and 27-13 at the quarter breaks en route to a 29-25 win. Caribou was led by Barnes (11 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals), while Delaney Williams added seven points; Adams, five points and seven rebounds; Sirois, four points and five steals; and Clara Collins, two points and eight rebounds.
     For Presque Isle White, J. Hallett had 10 points.
    At Fort Kent Jan. 4, Caribou trailed 7-4 in the first quarter and was down 15-11 at halftime before taking a 24-23 lead after three quarters en route to the 33-30 win.
    Caribou was led by Sirois (13 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals), while Williams added seven points; Collins, five points and seven rebounds; Barnes , five points, 11 rebounds and seven steals; Adams, two points; and St. Peter, one.
    Fort Kent was led by Chelsey Plourde, with a game-high 16 points.
    On Dec. 31, Caribou lost in overtime to Houlton, 28-25. Caribou trailed 2-0 in the first quarter, but led 9-2 at halftime and 19-15 after three stanzas. Houlton rallied to knot the game at 25-25 at the end of regulation.
    Caribou was led by Sirois with nine points, five rebounds and five steals; Collins, eight points, 22 rebounds and six steals; and Adams and Barnes, both four points. Houlton was lea by Breanna Longstaff with nine points.
    The CMS seventh grade girls basketball team became a perfect 10-0 on the season when the Vikings defeated Houlton 42-18 Dec. 31 in Houlton. Caribou led 13-7, 24-9 and 34-15 at the quarter breaks.
    Hannah Graham led all scorers for the 10th consecutive game with 24 points. Sarah Doak hauled down many rebounds and added eight points, while Abbi Theriault added six points; and Lauren Chapman and Emilee Susi, each had two.
    Emily Mooers led Houlton with nine points.
    Against Wisdom Dec. 28, the Vikings pulled out a 43-40 win. Graham led Caribou with 25 points, while Doak added eight; Erin Patton, six; and Emilee Susi and Theriault, both two. Leading scorer for Wisdom was Courtney Ouellette with 18 points. Caribou led 22-4, 26-14 and Caribou 43-21 at the quarter breaks.
