According to Normal Milton, president of the Halfway Home Pet Rescue, Beanie is a former Caribou Pet Rescue cat whose owner has passed away. He is neutered, has all current shots, leukemia tested again and is ready for adoption. Beanie is a love and enjoys life to its fullest. Beanie will be at the Jan. 23 Cat Adoption Fair in the back of Expect More Dollar Store on Sweden St., in Caribou from 12 to 3 p.m. Volunteers of the Halfway Home Pet Rescue will be selling tickets for the Carolyn Hayden Cat Quilt during the event as well as collecting returnable bottles. The rescue is again overloaded with lovely adult cats who have received full medical care. Another five pre-adoption cats are currently at the vet and a huge vet bill expected, again. The shelter also has five beautiful black cats from Van Buren whose family lost their job and home. According to Milton, they are great, loving felines who need homes as soon as possible. Adoption information can be obtained by calling 492-1722 and leaving a message. Potential adoption families may expect a temporary delay in phone-call returns due to a serious family illness of volunteers.
