Dr. Mylan C. Cohen, Presque Isle High Shcool Class of 1979 and PIHS commencement speaker in 2008, became president of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) earlier this month.
ASNC is a greater than 5,000 member professional medical society, which provides a variety of continuing medical education programs related to nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography, develops standards and guidelines for training and practice, promotes accreditation and certification within the nuclear cardiology field and is a major advocate for furthering research and excellence in nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography.
Cohen practices in South Portland with Maine Cardiology Associates.
He is currently the medical director of noninvasive cardiology at Maine Medical Center and is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Cohen also serves on the Board of Directors of the TD BankNorth Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race for which he is co-medical director and on the Board of Directors of Congregation Bet Ha’am in South Portland.
