Flu clinic update

H1N1 influenza continues to decline in the area and across the state, but another wave of the virus is expected to arrive in the coming weeks or months. The best way to prepare for the next wave of flu is to get vaccinated. The Aroostook Medical Center encourages all adults, especially those at high risk for complications from the flu, to consider getting vaccinated against both seasonal and H1N1 influenza.

TAMC is offering seasonal and H1N1 flu shots at The Clinic at Walmart in Presque Isle and at Fort Fairfield Health Center, Ashland Health Center, Caribou Health Center, Central Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill and Family Practice & Internal Medicine in Presque Isle. Walk-in service is available at Walmart weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. TAMC’s primary care health centers offer the vaccine during normal business hours. A $10 fee applies, although many insurance providers cover the cost of the vaccine.
