Members of the Caribou High School Class of 2011 are ready to make a deal and on Friday, Jan. 22, that appears to be exactly what they are going to do, on stage, at the Caribou Performing Arts Center.     On this evening, the Class of 2011 will be sponsoring a take-off on the CBS television show, “Let’s Make a Deal,” which was originally hosted by TV celebrity Monty Hall.
According to Sherrill Campbell, 2011 class adviser, “This will be a great night of fun for anyone experiencing cabin fever. Contestants may come in costume or not, to be chosen to be on the ‘show,’ — we are of course encouraging crazy costumes.”
The CHS version of “Let’s Make a Deal,” will be hosted by staff member Steve Burden and the featured, “voice” of the show (also known as the announcer) will be none other than Caribou High School’s own Kenneth Atcheson.
Prizes for the anticipated show include a pub-style dining room set, airfare for two to Boston, a one-night stay for two at the Hampton Inn; an autographed photograph of Red Sox secondbaseman Dustin Pedroia; storage unit rental; Maine Winter Sports jacket; Skilltool set; and gift certificates worth more than the amount of admission to the show.
Campbell stated that a large number of the class members have been instrumental in securing the prizes while others will be working backstage during the event.
So, now that the holidays are over, the cold weather has become the norm rather than the exception and the ground hog won’t be making his appearance for several weeks (and who knows what will happen after he does); do yourself a big favor and attend this Jan. 22 evening event. IT promises to make you forget just how cold it is outside, or that work you might have brought home to finish up with over the weekend — everyone deserves a good deal every now and then and the CHS Class of 2011 promises to deliver just that.
Admission is $8 for the “Let’s Make a Deal” show which will begin at 7 p.m. at the CPAC, with all proceeds going to benefit the CHS Class of 2011.
