The AARP Tax Aid Service, at the Caribou Recreation and Wellness Center is staffed with trained volunteers who use the latest tax preparation software to prepare public participants’ personal federal and state tax returns. The goal of this community service project is to provide free tax preparation, including free electronic filing of tax returns, to low and middle-income groups with special attention to those age 60 and older. Neither business returns nor complex personal returns will be handled.
Individuals fitting the criteria are encouraged to take advantage of this service which will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb.2 through April 15.
Participants do not have to be members of AARP.
