Vikes fall to Bapst

    With the season now past the halfway mark, girls basketball teams are scurrying to gain victories in an effort to improve their playoff chances.
    The following is a recap of games played through Monday, Jan. 4.

John Bapst 41, Caribou 26

    At the Bangor Auditorium Dec. 30, Jordan Myerowitz scored 11 points to help lead John Bapst to victory over Caribou. Jenna Selander netted 12 points for the Vikings (4-3), while Danielle Soucy and Alexa Massey both added four; Brittany Doak, three; Dayna Michaud, two; and Jamie Martin, one.
    John Bapst led 9-2, 19-4 and 28-14 at the quarter breaks.

 
Fort Kent 67, Limestone-MSSM 30

    At Limestone Dec. 30, Taylor Boucher scored 36 points as Fort Kent shellacked Limestone-MSSM (2-7). Stephanie Leighton led the Eagles with 11 points, while Victoria St. Pierre and Audra Kirk chipped in four points each. Chelsea Leighton added two points and Jasmine Cote and Savanna Gray both had one.
    Fort Kent led 19-4, 37-16 and 55-19 at the quarter breaks.

Limestone-MSSM 49, Van Buren 10

    At Limestone Dec. 29, Caitlin Good scored a game-high 16 points to lead Limestone-MSSM past Van Buren. The Crusaders had just two points in the second half. St. Pierre had 11 points for the Eagles, while St. Pierre added 11; Amanda Allen, 10; S. Leighton, five; Kirk, three; and C. Leighton and Cote, both two.
    Ashlie Wilson scored eight of Van Buren’s 10 points
    Limestone-MSSM led 8-6, 12-8, and 28-10 at the quarter breaks.
