The Presque Isle boys are now in third place in EM Class B with their 7-1 record, while Central Aroostook continued to lead the way in Class D at 7-0.
Summaries of games played through Monday are as follows:
Presque Isle 46, MDI 42 – The Wildcats held on to earn the triumph in a game held Monday after being postponed Saturday.
Travis Dyer scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, to pace Presque Isle. Alex Tuttle scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats held off a late charge by the Trojans.
Washburn 62, Ashland 49 – At Ashland Monday, Jordan McLaughlin and Chase Chandler combined for 17 fourth-quarter points as Washburn outscored Ashland 21-7 to erase a 42-41 deficit and come out on top.
McLaughlin finished with a game-high 20 points for the 4-3 winners. Chandler had 16 and Mitch Worcester and Conner Fitzpatrick had nine each. Worcester also dished out 10 assists.
Kenny Tarr’s 19 points and 11 assists and Lucas Hafford’s 17 points and 12 rebounds led the Hornets, who fell to 4-5 with the loss..
Central Aroostook 65, Washburn 57 – At Mars Hill Saturday, the Panthers built an 11-point third-quarter advantage before Washburn came back to take a three-point lead early in the fourth quarter. In the end, CA had too much and stayed perfect on the campaign.
The 7-0 Panthers were paced by Caleb Kelly’s 19 points. Mitch Folsom and Dan Brewer were also in double figures in scoring with 12 and 10, respectively.
Worcester drained four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points. Fitzpatrick scored 14 more.
Southern Aroostook 77, Ashland 51 – At Ashland Thursday, Dakota Sleeper connected for a game-high 22 points as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook prevailed.
Hafford led the Hornets with 17 points and Tarr added 16.
Presque Isle 66, Bucksport 43 – At Bucksport last Wednesday, Keenan Eaton tallied 16 points to propel Presque Isle by Bucksport.
Nate Ackerson tallied 12 points and Dyer had 11 more. Oliver Zubrick was the fourth PI player in double digits, netting 10 points.
Central Aroostook 73, Easton 35 – At Mars Hill last Wednesday, Logan McLaughlin scored a season-best 17 points as Central Aroostook defeated the Bears. Kelly added 14 points for the Panthers, who outscored the visitors 19-7 in the second quarter to take command.
Jonah Bacon had 10 points and was the only Easton player to reach double figures.
Southern Aroostook 79, Washburn 70 – At Washburn last Tuesday, Dakota Sleeper of SA (40 points) and Worcester of the Beavers (30 points) were both on their games offensively, but the Warriors had too much firepower and earned the win.
