The Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors are 8-1 on the year, as they picked up two more victories over the winter break.
Southern Aroostook 59, Washburn 35 — At Dyer Brook, Liz Goodall netted 22 points as the Lady Warriors overpowered Washburn last Saturday.
Shelby Hartin added 15 points for the Lady Warriors, while Rebecca Campbell scored 10 points to lead Washburn.
The Lady Warriors led 12-6 after the first quarter and held a 25-14 lead at intermission. They built their lead to 43-18 over three periods.
Southern Aroostook 66, Katahdin 48 – Last Wednesday in Stacyville, the Lady Warriors extended their 8-5 opening-quarter lead to a 31-22 halftime advantage. After three, the Lady Warriors held a 49-32 margin en route to the win.
Goodall scored 11 of her 24 points in the third quarter as the Lady Warriors outscored Katahdin 18-10. Hartin tossed in 15 points while, Jasmine Rockwell added 13 and Kaitlyn Sommers netted 10.
Olivia McNally paced Katahdin with 27 points and Brittany Fogarty chipped in with eight.
Calais 47, Houlton 39 – Monday night at Calais, the Blue Devils outscored the Lady Shires 18-6 in the final period for the win. The Lady Shires led 27-19 at halftime and 33-29 after the third.
Vanessa Sanderson scored 20 points for Houlton, while Martha McPartland added seven and Amanda Fogarty five more.
Houlton 46, Schenck 41 — Last Wednesday, Houlton’s Sanderson shouldered the scoring load again, knocking down 16 points in the win. Fogarty netted 11 more for the Lady Shires.
The Lady Shires turned a three-point opening-quarter deficit into a 27-21 halftime lead. After the third, Houlton stayed ahead 38-35 heading into the decisive final period to hang on for the win.
Washburn 50, Hodgdon 42 — The Lady Hawks nearly had a win over host Washburn on Monday. The game was never out of reach for Hodgdon, as they trailed 22-15 at halftime and 36-27 after the third.
Campbell scored a game-high 21 points, including being 13-for-18 from the foul line for Washburn.
Chelsea Sloat hit 11 points and Jillian London scored seven, while Emmaly Jurson had six more for Hodgdon.
GHCA 52, Calvary Chapel 28 — Last Tuesday in Hodgdon, the Greater Houlton Christian Academy Lady Eagles outscored Calvary Chapel Christian 16-1 in the first quarter and cruised. The Lady Eagles held a comfortable 27-10 halftime cushion and a 41-14 commanding lead after the third.
Mariah Wiley paced the Lady Eagles with 16 points, while Desiree Vargas added 10. Emily Little and McKenzie McGuire each had eight.
Southern Aroostook 77, Ashland 51 – Last Thursday in Ashland, the Warriors grabbed a 23-10 first-period lead and extended it to 44-23 at halftime. Over three periods, Southern Aroostook led 70-34 en route to the lopsided win.
Dakota Sleeper scored a game-high 22 points, while Cody Robinson finished with 20 points.
GHCA 82, Calvary Chapel 44 — Last Tuesday in Hodgdon, the Eagles raced to a 24-7 first-period lead and held a 51-22 halftime advantage en route to the win.
Zach Straubel led four Greater Houlton Christian Academy scorers in double figures with 15 points, while Micah Wiley netted 12 points; Chad Duff scored 11 points and Ted Bowers added 10. Russell Socoby chipped in with seven, while Ryan Campbell and
Ethan Holmes had six apiece.
