Easton Kiwanis Club holds annual Christmas supper

On Dec. 1, the Easton Kiwanis Club held its Christmas supper at the Odd Fellows Hall with 20 present. The members brought gifts for children to be handed out for Christmas. A delicious ham and other potluck items were enjoyed by the group.

President Mike Allen opened with the Pledge to the Flag and Ann Osgood offered prayer. The meeting was short with thanks for the children’s gifts and Mike explained that more gifts would be coming from another organization.
Happy and sad dollars were received and then the speaker for the evening, Lois Ladner, gave a very interesting talk on her growing up and attending the old Easton High School which had just recently burned. She also went on to speak of other funny episodes in her life and her disgust on some things children are able to hear and see, with a warning that this will not be well for the future adults. Her talk was well received with laughter and concern.
Guests for the evening were Walter and Nicki Lockhart, Lois Ladner, Vaughn and Cheryl Carter, Pastor Matt Maxwell, Barbara Clark and a future Kiwanis, little 2 year old, Chloe Kneeland, Barbara’s granddaughter. Members present were Mike and Loris Allen, Mike Cyr, Eldora and Clair Carter, Harold Clark, Vaughn Martin, Bernie Hussey, Ann Osgood, Irene DaFonte, Barbara Blackstone and Jessica Blackstone.
