Limestone’s newest Eagle Scout, Nicholas Whitehead, 14, was presented with a Legislative Sentiment sponsored by State Senator Troy Jackson and State Representative Bernard Ayotte.

Whitehead’s Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project was repairing an all-purpose bridge spanning a small stream on a US-Canadian border trail. According to Ann Whitehead, repairing this bridge helped reduced future environmental degradation caused when vehicles drive through the stream.
Whitehead was presented his Eagle Scout medal by his father, Robert Troy. His mother, Ann, was honored to adorning him with his Eagle neckerchief and slide.  During the ceremony, Whitehead was the recipient of presentations starting with a Legislative Sentiment co-sponsored by State Sen. Troy Jackson and State Rep. Bernard Ayotte. With only 2 percent of all scouts attaining the rank of Eagle, both Jackson and Ayotte acknowledged Nick’s achievement outstanding at such a young age and challenged him to take all the experience he attained in scouting and apply it to all aspects of his life beyond scouting.
Following the Sentiment, Whitehead presented mentor pins to Scout Master Cote and life-long friend Laura St. Pierre, who was represented by her son Aaron. Whitehead thanked all who helped with his Eagle project and those who supported and guided him on his journey to Eagle Scout. The ceremony concluded with the benediction provided by the long time family friend, Reverend Ron Rosser.
