The Vikings tasted defeat for the first time this season Saturday when they lost to Mattanawcook in Lincoln.
Caribou, which bested Old Town in overtime the previous night, took on undefeated Presque Isle last night at home.
Summaries of games played through Monday are as follows: Caribou 50, Old Town 40 — At Old Town Friday, Caribou’s Jenna Selander carried the Vikings to an overtime victory over Old Town thanks to her 27-point effort. Old Town led 10-6 in the first quarter and 15-14 at halftime before Caribou knotted the game at 27-27 after three stanzas. The two squads were deadlocked 37-37 at the end of regulation.
Alexa Massey added nine points for the Vikings, while Jamie Martin and Brittany Doak both chipped in four point, while Danielle Soucy added two.
For Old Town, Ashley Abbott netted 17 points in the loss.
On Saturday, Caribou fell 39-34 to Matanawcook Academy. Individual statistics from that game was not available by press time.
Washburn 32, Central Aroostook 31 — At Washburn Friday, Washburn’s Becca Campbell hit the game-winning shot to lift the Beavers past Central Aroostook. Campbell tallied 15 points, while Chandler added eight; Saucier and Sperry, both three; Sjoberg, two and Hernandez, one.
Vicki McIntyre led Central Aroostook with 13 points, while Grass added seven; Long, five, Grew, four; and Cushman, two.
Washburn 57, Hodgdon 40 — At Hodgdon Dec. 8, Rebecca Campbell registered a game-high 35 points to spark Washburn. Chelsea Sloat netted 18 points to lead Hodgdon while Cierra Willette added 11.
