Image    Speaking Up For Us (SUFU) is a statewide coalition of people who have developmental disabilities and who are dedicated to helping other people advocate for themselves and exercise their rights.  Each year a conference is held and a person is chosen by members in each region as an outstanding example of self advocacy.  On Oct. 21 at the conference in Brewer, Elisha Blum-Evitts received this honor.
Blum-Evitts is a lifelong resident of Patten and is active in the local self advocacy group that helps teach members how to speak up for the things that they want to achieve in their life. Blum-Evitts is a friendly person who loves to be around people and is involved in her community. All those who know her believe that she well deserves this award.
